HAIRCUTS are being delayed until just before Christmas but boutique inner city customers aren't willing to sacrifice their grooming just yet. Owner of Zash Hair Design Carolyn Evans said business had changed quite a bit in response to the credit crunch, with many customers stringing out appointments to stay within the budget.

"Customers still call to confirm appointments.
"However, we've seen a prolonging of them, from what were five to six-week periods before, to eight to nine-week periods now," she said.

"But on the other hand, while hair extensions are expensive, we did four sets last week while we normally have about two.

"Our clients are often very high-maintenance people that want always to look their best, so they are quite regular."
